Amplifying Your Child's Voice in Family Matters - Hear the Child Report

Hello! In family law, especially during times of transition or breakdown, it’s crucial to understand your child’s perspective. As a professional dedicated to preparing Hear the Child Reports, I ensure your child's voice is heard clearly and respectfully in decisions that affect their lives, in line with the mandates of the Family Law Act.

What is a Hear the Child Report?

A Hear the Child Report is a unique and vital document that captures your child's views verbatim on family transitions, such as separation or divorce. This non-evaluative report focuses solely on conveying your child’s thoughts and feelings, without any recommendations or opinions from me.

How is the Report Prepared?

  • The report can be initiated through an agreement between guardians and myself, by a consent order, or by a judicial court order. I require a signed retainer agreement from both parents, irrespective of the authorization method.

  • The content of the report is entirely controlled by your child. I ensure that nothing is included without their explicit permission, respecting their autonomy and comfort level.

  • My role is to listen and accurately document your child's views, without any form of evaluation or interpretation.

Why Opt for a Hear the Child Report?

  • Respecting the Child’s Voice:** This report provides a platform for your child to express themselves freely and be heard in legal proceedings.

  • The non-evaluative nature of the report ensures your child does not feel pressured or analyzed.

  • Aligning with the Family Law Act, this report ensures that your child's views are considered appropriately in decisions about their best interests.

In family law matters, ensuring that your child's voice is heard and considered is paramount. Through the Hear the Child Report, I am committed to delivering a service that captures your child’s authentic voice in a safe and respectful manner. Let's work together to ensure that your child's perspectives are represented clearly and effectively in decisions that shape their future.
